Competence development: now more necessary than ever!

April 23th 2009, SURFfoundation, the Open Universiteit Nederland and Universiteit van Amsterdam organise a conference on the latest developments in the field of competence development and the support provided by open source software. Rob Koper of CELSTEC is one of the speakers.

Lifelong competence development
These days more than ever it is important to educate and train employees and to develop the available talents in organisations. Open source software can help. At the conference national and international speakers explain how open source software can actively support individuals, organisations and sectors. Rob Koper of CELSTEC gives a presentation on lifelong competence development. A representative of UNESCO presents organisational challenges for lifelong competence development and Jocelyn Manderveld (SURFfoundation) presents organisational models for lifelong competence development.
 

Best practices
In the afternoon Empower Limburg and Agora present some best practices. The conference concludes with a drink which offers ample opportunities to discuss the topics of the day.

Organisation
SURFfoundation, Open Universiteit Nederland (CELSTEC) and the Universiteit van Amsterdam organise this conference. They are the Dutch partners of the European TENCompetence project.
