Lifelong competence development
These days more than ever it is important to educate and train employees and to develop the available talents in organisations. Open source software can help. At the conference national and international speakers explain how open source software can actively support individuals, organisations and sectors. Rob Koper of CELSTEC gives a presentation on lifelong competence development. A representative of UNESCO presents organisational challenges for lifelong competence development and Jocelyn Manderveld (SURFfoundation) presents organisational models for lifelong competence development.
Best practices
In the afternoon Empower Limburg and Agora present some best practices. The conference concludes with a drink which offers ample opportunities to discuss the topics of the day.

SURFfoundation, Open Universiteit Nederland (CELSTEC) and the Universiteit van Amsterdam organise this conference. They are the Dutch partners of the European TENCompetence project.
