Expert meeting on Biebkracht
| August 25 and 26 science and library experts met at the Pier of Scheveningen in order to exchange knowledge and good practises in the field of on-line knowledge sharing and networked learning in learning networks. |
e-knowledge hub
The meeting of about 20 experts from the Netherlands, Belgium (Flanders) and Great Brittain took place in the context of the Biebkracht concept. Biebkracht started in 2010 as a pilot. It's the “e-knowledge hub of the Library Network of the province Gelderland (Gelders Bibliotheek Netwerk)” for the staff members of the public libraries in Gelderland. Biebkracht is a joint product of the libraries from Gelderland, CELSTEC and the Library School.
Evaluation
In the expert meeting the first experiences of the users with Biebkracht were critically evaluated and compared with recent insights and current research into knowledge sharing and on-line learning networks nationally and internationally. The meeting was organised by the libraries from Gelderland on the instigation of CELSTEC and supported by the province Gelderland.
Noon-noon meeting
The Noon-Noon expert meeting followed the format for ‘open knowledge sharing’ that also forms the base of the Biebkracht concept itself. It was led by ‘facilitator’ Paul Vermeulen, with the assistance of ‘digital natives’ Kamakshi Rajagopal and Rory Sie from CELSTEC. In the preparation fase but also afterwards a Biebkracht community was being used to exchange information and to get acquainted. During and after the two day meeting, information was shared through Twitter (#biebkracht), dropbox, Flickr, instant video testimonials, -mindmaps, - photo’s, audio statements, etc.
The meeting was very instructive for all participants. It resultated in many valuable recommendations for further research into aspects of learning networks and more specifically for the subsequent development and upscaling of the Biebkracht concept. After the meeting it was an established fact that with Biebkracht the right direction has been chosen. This is also a positive sign for CELSTEC's research programme ‘Learning Networks’.
