Authors: Miao, Yongwu; Sloep, Peter; Koper, Rob
Abstract: This paper discusses the role of business process oriented knowledge management in facilitating work based learning (WBL) projects. We claim that an integrated learning and business process model may be helpful for the creation, transfer, and use of knowledge about and within business process among teachers, employers, employees, and other stakeholders involved in WBL projects. We analyze two possible approaches to develop methods and software tools for modeling WBL projects. In particular, we propose to extend IMS Learning Design, which may be a promising approach to facilitate the design, communication, reuse, customization, execution and monitoring the execution of WBL project plans.
