Paper nominated for best paper award 2009

The organising committee of the International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL) 2009 has nominated the paper of Riina Vuorikari, researcher at CELSTEC for the best paper award 2009.

Five nominees
Title of the paper is Are tags from Mars and descriptors from Venus? A study on the ecology of educational resource metadata (link). Riina Vuorikari will present it during the conference that will take place 19-21 August 2009, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany. Of the papers submitted for this conference five were nominated for the award, among which the paper of Vuorikari. Co-authors are Martin Sillaots, Silvia Panzavolta and Rob Koper.
ICWL
ICWL is an annual international conference on web-based learning. Since the first ICWL was held in Hong Kong in 2002, it has been held in Australia (2003), China (2004), Hong Kong (2005), Malaysia (2006), United Kingdom (2007), and China (2008). The 8th ICWL 2009 will be held in Aachen, Germany and will be jointly organized by Hong Kong Web Society, RWTH Aachen University, and Max-Planck-Institute for Computer Science.
