Peter Sloep honorary professor at Glasgow Caledonian University
| The Glasgow Caledonian University has appointed prof. dr. Peter Sloep of the het Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies (CELSTEC) of the Open Universiteit as an honorary professor in the Caledonian Academy. The appointment is for a period of three years. |
Advisory Board
The Academy is the focus of Glasgow Caledonian University’s aim to develop and research innovative forms of learning and teaching for a wide range of students - not only at our Glasgow base but also at outreach campuses abroad. As honorary professor in the Caledonian Academy Sloep will chair de Academy’s Advisory Board, an international group of education specials that helps the Academy excel in its work.
About Peter Sloep
Prof. dr. Peter Sloep is professor and programme leader research and development of new learning technologies. Sloep studied biology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and did his PhD in theoretical biology at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (1983). After postdocs in among others the United States and Canada, he started working at the Open University of the Netherlands in 1986. at first at the faculty of Natural Sciences, since 1999 as a researcher at the Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies CELSTEC. His research focuses on learning networks, online social networks intended to facilitate professional development and non-formal modes of learning and teaching.
