Assessment of Prior Learning (APL)

This project has two ambitions

• to make it possible for students of the Open Universiteit Nederland to introduce prior learning into their programme and
• by doing so to be an example for other institutions for higher education.  

In 2007 the project developed an APL (Assessment of Prior Learning) procedure for all bachelor programmes of the OUNL.

In 2008 the project

• focusses on extending the procedure to assessment of prior learning for the master programmes
• investigating the possibilities of APL apart from full ba/ma programmes.
