New on CELSTEC staff: Kamakshi Rajagopal

As of January 2009, Kamakshi Rajagopal has joined the CELSTEC staff. Kamakshi is originally from India, but she grew up in Leuven, Belgium. She will be working on her PhD in the Learning Networks programme.

Kamakshi's academic background is in Linguistics and Language Technology (K.U.Leuven, Belgium). After her formal studies, she briefly worked as a researcher at the university of Louvain-la-Neuve on corpus linguistics and then for about three years at AVNet – K.U.Leuven and EuroPACE as a researcher and project coordinator on several EU-funded projects on e-learning and ICT for learning. The focus was quite varied ranging from multimedia applications for learning to community building and virtual mobility. For the last year, she was working at IMEC (an interuniversity research centre on microelectronics in Leuven) in business development.
LtfLL-project
Kamakshi will be working on her PhD with prof.dr. Peter Sloep as promotor and dr. Peter van Rosmalen as her daily supervisor. The topic of her PhD will be inspired by the topics of the LTfLL project, which she will also be working on.
