Cooperation Strategies
Open Innovation for New Forms of Learning
The Learning media lab follows an open innovation strategy and you can cooperate with us on different levels.
"The central idea behind open innovation is that in a world of widely distributed knowledge, companies cannot afford to rely entirely on their own research, but should instead buy or license processes or inventions (e.g. patents) from other companies. In addition, internal inventions not being used in a firm's business should be taken outside the company (e.g., through licensing, joint ventures, spin-offs). In contrast, closed innovation refers to processes that limit the use of internal knowledge within a company and make little or no use of external knowledge."
The innovation chain is considered to comprise four separate stages each of which has different characteristics. The model assumes that CELSTEC is co-operating with parties that aim to innovate their educational models and services. The first two stages emphasise knowledge creation. The last two stages cover the appliance of this knowledge and these are directed by the cooperation partners. CELSTEC’s main contribution is in the first two stages; its contribution tends to fade out in the subsequent phases. For the partners’ staff the reverse applies. This gradual shift of staff contribution during the process is supposed to amplify smooth transfer and innovation. Naturally, frequent feedback loops between different stages are part of the model.
For becoming a CELSTEC innovation partner you can contact us for:
- applying solutions and new media technologies in your context.
- defining innovative joined projects ideas.
- becoming a monitoring partner and join our innovation community. (to be launched in January 2009)
- test drive new ideas and applications/services in the lab context
