The Showcases in Learning Media Lab give you an impression of what CELSTEC has done in the area of bringing added value to different learning scenarios. The showcases give background information, application scenarios, links to downloads and publications and live demonstration links.
Available showcases are:
Lifelong Learning Services. CELSTEC is developing and providing lifelong learning services, i.e. all the services needed for continous professional and personal development that enable users to a) keep up-to-date in their profession; b) develop specific competences; c) develop the competences needed to perform a higher level function in the current professional area and d) develop the competences needed to perform a new job in another area (including initial education).
Games for learning. This showcase demonstrates the potential of serious games for learning complex cognitive skills.
Metadata for Learning, (MACE) This show case gives an overview for the potential of Metadata for new forms of learning. It demonstrates this by hand of a project for metadata enrichment in the field of architecture. Metadata enables new frorms of explorative learning, integration of rich content in the classroom, or self-directed learning for ongoing professional development.
Personalized Instruction IMS-LD gives examples of how you can work with IMS-LD for creating personalized and individual learning experiences. This showcase demonstrates some solutions to the problem of personalized instruction based on standards. You can try Units of Learning here!
Webcast Production and educational use this showcase demonstrates solutions around podcast and vodcast production from lowfi to high quality production approaches.
Contextualized Learning gives and example of embedding language learning support in real life situations. CELSTEC is creating and evaluating different solutions for supporting the learner in context.
Eyetracking for usability evaluation of educational content this showcase demonstrates how can we make use of eyetracking technologies for usability evaluation of educational content. Furthermore it gives some starting points on how eyetracking works.
Field Trip Scenario shows how you can apply technologies for supporting remote access to field trips and the integration field trip content in your curriculum.
TELEFORUM gives an example of how we use live conferencing for authentic learning support and the creation of authentic learning materials.
